This year the Full Moon in Sagittarius happens at 8:42 PM PDT. Just as the Sun is setting we have a beautiful Full Moon in all its glory! The “Strawberry Moon” is the last Full Moon of the Spring season.

When the Moon is full in this sign, we are looking at the choices, goals and decisions made when the Sagittarius Moon was new, on November 23, 2022. This was the day before Thanksgiving when we were in gratitude mode, or overwhelmed. Wishes made were all about the Sun and Moon sharing the sign and boosting our energy with the Fire element. Sagittarius is a Mutable Fire Sign, indicating it is flexible and ready to adapt to circumstances beyond our control. Just what were you hoping for? This double Fire moment supplied the energy, but did you settle on one thing, or reach for many? This being a time of family and having company for our Thanksgiving meal, I know I was wishing for peace, harmony and a good spread! But I was also concerned with creativity, Sagittarius’s forte, and beauty was important. So, flowers, fragrance, and family provided that.

Now with the Full Moon I can see how I’ve stepped up my game in relation to creativity. As a Virgo I sometimes feel I fall short of this, or judge myself harshly in relation to being talented, and will not even attempt to try things. But, this year I can see where I’ve risen to the occasion and am moving forward. This year seems to be about putting ourselves out there, and advancing myself with all I used to fear. Fear of ridicule, judgment and retribution. So, I am hoping the same for you, to get out of your own way and give your talent a shot of adrenaline!

With this Full Moon we have help from the planet Mars in Leo. It trines the Moon delivering courage, assertiveness and helps to confront difficulties in a direct, no-nonsense sort of way. You won’t be able to tolerate self-pity or passivity, and you can be rather brusque with others' emotional problems. "Stop crying and DO something about it" might be your motto. It also sextiles the Sun in Gemini. When the Sun sextile Mars transit takes place, people are more energetic and enterprising than usual, being more inclined to work towards their personal dreams. In astrology, the Sun shines a light on our personality, on our resourcefulness and freedom of will, on how we use our soul purpose. Mars is square Jupiter in Taurus, helping us be enterprising, ambitious, with a strong desire to succeed in a big way. Ever on the look out for new opportunities and promising new ventures, these planets inspire a willingness to take risks if you sense that something is going to be a winner. You’ll relish healthy competition and will feel that it spurs you on to even greater achievements.

At the same time, Mercury in Taurus is conjunct Uranus, the planet of awakening. Mercury is the messenger and this combo brings sudden realizations and quick thinking. Anything that we think is blocking our progress can be looked at with fresh eyes that have no fear. So be on the lookout for inspiration and a feeling of competence to engage in all things you may not have before. These planets, along with Pluto in Aquarius, are plowing the road of limitations and helping us to transform ourselves in a big new way! Get involved in your own well being and shoot for the stars!

On May 19th at 8:53 AM PDT we have the New Moon in the sign of Taurus. With the Sun and Moon sharing the degree of 28 Taurus 25 minutes, it is time to plant the seeds of what is to come. Not only in the garden, but in your life’s path.

Let us look at what kind of goals to work on while these energies are available. The New Moon in Taurus is a good time to set our intentions on all things Taurus rules; satisfaction and gratification, life’s simple and physical pleasures, activities that bring us in touch with nature and with our bodies. It’s time to set our sites on being comfortable and secure with our finances, and having our needs met. This Fixed Earth sign is determined to succeed in whatever motivates it, typically Earth related endeavors.

This combination encourages a patient and steadfast approach, one capable of tremendous devotion, dedication, endurance, and constancy. The ability to follow through and stick with things is one of the greatest gifts Taurus brings us. Once your course is set, you can pursue it tenaciously until it is completed, stubbornly resisting any attempts to sway you from your purpose.

We also have a stellium in Taurus, including the Sun and Moon, Uranus at 19 degrees Taurus, Mercury at 6 degrees Taurus, the North Node of the Moon at 2 degrees Taurus, and Jupiter at 0 degrees Taurus! This strong combination of planets and luminaries pushes the agenda this New Moon presents. From May 16, 2023 through May 25, 2024, the planet Jupiter returns to Taurus for a productive year of new beginnings.

This New Moon sextiles Mars and Neptune, and trines Pluto, urging us to seek innovation, motivation, and the will power to reinforce our efforts to begin fresh. With this potent Taurus energy, we have the chance to make important changes in our lives. It’s time to make some solid and realistic plans and to set the stage for reaping the rewards from our new beginnings, as little or big as they may be. The seeds planted on this New Moon will culminate when the Moon is full in Taurus; October 28th, 2023.

A wonderful way to celebrate this New Moon is going outdoors, making a beautiful altar with flowers, sweets and delicious food, crystals, candles, and special objects you may have. I used to love to go to my favorite beach and create a circle of rocks. Then I would divide it into 4 parts, the South, West, North and East. I would enter from the South, the child, considering my life and what it has brought me, and what I’ve created. I would continue to the West, the teenager, the North, the Mother, and the East, the wise one. This review is accompanied with prayers and epifanes of who I am now. Then, once I was ready, I would exit through the East, feeling renewed and enlightened.

So, dream big and follow through. You are supported by the planets and luminaries to strike it in a massive way! Use this knowledge to your advantage, and be brave. We all need to step up our game this New Moon, and move from lack to abundance!

Every year on the Scorpio Full Moon people around the world celebrate the Vesak Festival.

Vesak is one of the most important Buddhist festivals, and high holidays. It is also known as Wesak or Buddha Day. It is a celebration of Buddha's birthday and to some it marks his enlightenment. The full moon in May is said to be the day of greatest spiritual opportunity in the year. And, due to the sign it is in every year, Scorpio, we can go very deep into our emotions. This year the Full Moon lands on May 5th at 10:33 AM PDT.

And on this special occasion we have a Penumbral Lunar eclipse which begins at 8:04 A.M. PDT and ends at 1:55 P.M. PDT. A penumbral lunar eclipse takes place when the Moon moves through the outer part of Earth's shadow, the penumbra. This type of eclipse is not as dramatic as other types of lunar eclipse’s and is often mistaken for a regular Full Moon. This imperfect alignment of the Sun, Earth and Moon creates the Earth blocking some of the Sun's light from directly reaching the Moon's surface and covers all or part of the Moon with the outer part of its shadow, the penumbra. It will almost be impossible to see, but still its effect compels us to pay attention to things in our life that need to change.

This Full Moon in Scorpio shows us the results of plans made when the Moon was new in Scorpio, October 25th, 2022. At that time with the Sun and Moon in Scorpio we were looking at things that are very mysterious and deep, and somewhat taboo. Scorpio rules desire in the old school of astrology, and with desire come all the consequences. It can be a sign of extremes, when unbalanced, and great power and depth when balanced. Scorpio is a Fixed Water Sign; stubborn, persistent and emotionally driven. All fixed signs share a need for respect, and when Scorpio‘s don‘t receive it, they disappear, as if magically. They never forget, and at times never forgive. This strong sign wants to be in charge, director of operations. This sign also rules shared resources and inheritance, as well as sex and death. The power of this “lens” to see the world through can ignite your base emotions that need attention.

So depending on what was on your mind when the Moon was new, now it has culminated in today’s reality. And again, if something was begun that hasn’t seen the light of day yet, continue on. As we look at today's reality, what is still missing? We have a grand opportunity to go deep beneath the surface of our day to day life and seek the hidden meanings, the shadow of our personalities, and see what it will take to bring ourselves to our highest form. As mentioned before, this Full Moon is the one with the greatest spiritual opportunity of the year for self realization.

Gather with like minded people and celebrate this special day. There is power in numbers, so together you can push the boundaries to arrive at a new place. One of mind changing, support, and collective dreaming. We are definitely being reconstructed into a new form; Homo noeticus. A more advanced form for humanity. Join the club;)
