On March 3rd at 3:37 AM PST the Moon is Full in the sign of Virgo. But, starting after midnight of March 2nd, the Full Lunar Eclipse begins, reaching maximum at 3:33 AM! This is the last Full Lunar Eclipse until December 31st, 2028. In Astrology, Lunar Eclipses are full Moons on steroids, powerfully affecting ourselves and our planet.

The total Lunar Eclipse will be fully visible in the Pacific Standard Time (PST) zone, beginning with the partial phase at 1:50 AM PST, reaching totality from 3:03 AM to 4:03 AM PST, and ending completely at 6:23 AM PST. The penumbral, or faint stage begins earlier at 12:44 AM PST. It will be visible from western North America, Japan, New Zealand, most of Australia, and islands across the Pacific Ocean basin.

Why are Full Lunar Eclipses so important to Astrologers? They are moments in time that set us up to pause, to trigger crucial emotional breakthroughs, signal endings, and changes in destiny. They illuminate our subconscious shadow, forcing us to see how we emotionally deal in our relationships, our careers, and our personal life. They are seen as "wild card" events, often accelerating destiny and pushing us onto a new, more authentic life path. If you have your Natal Chart, see where 12 degrees Virgo lands in your chart, in order to know where you are personally affected. Write and keep track of your epiphanies, as the insights you gain now are so important.

Lunar Eclipses are about relationships and polarities. We look at our needs, our lacks, and our wants. In the sign of Virgo we highlight our physical health, our need for order, and service to others. We are set up to declare just what we have been experiencing, what has been building up like a powder keg. We need to strike a balance between our physical well being (Virgo/Moon), and our spiritual well being (Sun/Pisces). Virgo represents the left brain; where logic, language and linear processing takes place. Pisces represents the right brain’ where creativity, spatial awareness and holistic thinking takes place.

Look at your life path. Is there a balance between work/service, criticism/acceptance, practicality/impracticality? Look at your work, habits, your health and routines. We have the opportunity for clarity through chaos. The chaos can come out of the blue, making us aware of buried feelings that no longer serve us, that need to be disempowered. Or illness that forces us to rest and consider more than our busy lives. The changes to be made in our lives won’t happen overnight; after the Eclipse the energy is still activated, and it may take time to really see the big picture.

The Lunar Eclipse is centered above the “ring of fire”; the tectonic belt responsible for 90% of our world's earthquakes. Hmmmmm……..Also, all of you photographers and astrophotographers have a grand opportunity to view and photograph galaxy 3423, as the Lunar Eclipse “occults” this galaxy. This means when the Full Eclipse happens, this galaxy is lit up to view due to the darkness.

Jupiter at 15 degrees Cancer trines the Sun and sextiles the Moon. These aspects can bring us support, as Jupiter is exalted in Cancer, and thrives on nourishing and nurturing our soul. There can be positive shifts in our emotional well being within our family, our home, and our personal lives.

So take the initiative, review your life now for hints of what is to come. Get organized, but get rest to stay balanced. Resolve the matters that need resolving, take a lesson, and move on. Attend to your spiritual needs while maintaining your every day existence.

On February 17th at 4:01 AM PST the Sun and Moon share the exact degree of 28 degrees Aquarius, 50 minutes. This is the moment of the New Moon, yet the Annular Solar Eclipse begins at 1:56 AM PST, reaching its maximum at 4:12 AM PST. This makes for a Super New Moon in its power! Places for viewing the Eclipse include the South in Africa, South America, the South Pacific/South Atlantic, the Indian Ocean and Antarctica.

New Moons are always about new beginnings; setting an intention for what is to be created and manifested. In the sign of Aquarius, new beginnings can be brought on suddenly, a wake up call for new growth.

Aquarius is ruled by the planet Uranus, the Great Awakener. Its powerful influence directs obstacles to be removed, sometimes through powerful events, (like this one), fated changes long overdue. The goal is freedom from entanglements that no longer serve you. So the key is to look into your life with an open heart, and get ready either to initiate change where it’s desperately needed, or be ushered into it unprepared. This planet rattles our self imposed cage to get our attention. Aquarius is a fixed Air Sign; determined to make a difference for humanity with a kind heart. It is referred to as an Air sign of high humidity, meaning intellectual yet empathic.

So here the opportunity for life altering change is presented, and the turf is best represented by the house in our natal chart it lands in. The Eclipse falls into my First House, so I look to the meaning of the house, the relationship to my other natal planets to see how I will be prompted to arrive at my next level. We can all do this when we get our Natal Astrology chart:)

All of this powerful energy from the Sun aligning with the New Moon is squared by the planet Uranus. Again, the planet of change in a challenging posture. When Uranus squares the Sun life is apt to be somewhat unstable and full of sudden changes. It signals an intense period of sudden disruptions, forcing a radical reevaluation of identity, life direction, or our core foundations. Let the dam break, let the clouds part; see the needed work to be done in becoming truly authentic to your soul’s purpose.

The square to the New Moon urges us to strive for emotional freedom, from the past, from self judgement, from lingering feelings that keep us from doing more due to the fear of failure. Rather, we can dare to be different, allow ourselves to explore outside the norm, to reach higher up the ladder. This sign is not only about the self, but humanity at large. We can realize the best way to help and change the world is to help and change ourselves. It begins with us.

At this  time both the planet Mercury at 16 degrees Pisces, and Venus at 8 degrees Pisces trine Jupiter, stationed at 15 degrees Cancer. This peaceful Water Sign energy from Mercury brings positive vitality and spirit, inspiring an ongoing interest in learning and expanding our mental horizons. We can enjoy traveling, philosophical discussions, and exchanging ideas with those of different experiences and viewpoints. And the trine from Venus to Jupiter often brings unexpected opportunities for pleasure, new social connections, and a desire to update our environment or relationships in a refreshing, liberating manner. Allow yourself to flow with creative ideas to brighten your future.

The power of this New Moon/Annular Solar Eclipse will be activated for the next 6 months. That means one step at a time, one foot in front of the other, seeking independence and sovereignty.

On February 1st at 2:09 PM PST the Full Snow Moon arrives! Indigenous people called it this as typically this Moon appears we have our deepest cold snap for the season. This year is no exception with many states experiencing their coldest season in years.

Leo is a Fixed Fire sign; Fixed as it lands in the second month of Summer, and the Fire element strongest as Leo is ruled by the Sun. The Sun is in Aquarius now, and the Moon is exactly opposite it at 13 degrees Leo 4 minutes. When we have a Full Moon we look in hindsight at what we were hoping for, planning for, when the Moon was New. On July 24th of 2025 the New Moon in Leo was asking us, “what is your passion?” Leo rules our authentic self, the version of us that wishes to leave our mark upon the world.  Creativity comes in many forms; the most beautiful one having children. Their unbroken spirit shows us how to play, their self expression doesn’t judge the outcome, and they automatically lean toward their reason for coming here. Art, music and imagination soar when we have patience with our abilities, and improve upon them. The key is to follow the vision of your creation with an open heart.

On this Full Moon there are many planetary aspects at work. Not only does the Moon oppose the Sun, but also Venus and Mars in Aquarius. When Venus is in this sign we love to engage with others intellectually, sharing what we care most about. But the Moon in Leo is more concerned with the self's’ fulfillment. Here’s the rub.You can have conflicting emotional desires and needs which complicate your personal life. You may feel that you cannot depend on your love partner to take care of you or perhaps you cannot decide what you really want in a love relationship. If your needs for emotional sustenance and love are not satisfied, overeating (especially sweets) can be a problem now. This opposition is a balancing act of self/others comfort, so take a deep dive and get a sure footing.

The opposition from Mars to the Moon can make for temper tantrums. When Mars is in Aquarius the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one. You may want to gather the troops and right the social wrongs, rebel against conformity, and search for freedom for yourself and others. We can be very temperamental and impatient now, and can be very difficult to live with. Watch out for becoming irritable and bad tempered if you do not have enough vigorous physical activities or other outlets for your aggressive, feisty spirit. You can use this opposition to excuse yourself if you need to and reassess why you feel hurt. Then prioritize your actions to show your authentic feelings without blowing someone away with anger or misunderstandings.

While the Moon opposes Venus and Mars, Jupiter in Cancer inconjuncts them. This aspect asks for an adjustment, an understanding of differences. Jupiter expands energy and in Cancer, the home, family, and security are paramount. The goal being more, bigger, better for all involved. The friction comes from Venus’s need for pleasure, comfort, and unmet needs. This aspect creates tension, pushing for growth in areas of love, money, and self-worth, but often with friction, requiring conscious effort to balance abundance with true contentment.

When Jupiter, the planet of growth and expansion inconjuncts Mars, the aggressive planet of action, we can rush ahead without forethought. We can spread ourselves too thin, rush, overdo things if we don’t pay attention. Try not to take on too many projects at once; your energy could get scattered and you might not finish what you start. Avoid making major financial investments or purchases; your judgment might be a bit off under this influence.

So there you have it! It’s time to stabilize your life through considering you are the center of your universe, creating the next step with justice, fairness and love for yourself and others. It all depends on you, what you believe you are worthy of in this lifetime. Shoot for the stars!
