On August 4th at 4:13 AM PDT the Sun and Moon align together at 12 degrees Leo 34 minutes. This Fixed Fire sign illustrates all things Summer; adventure, romance, great bounty of food and love of family! Leo is a fixed sign as it lands right in the middle of the Summer season. This provides determination, stick to it attitude, and a follow through with mastery. The Fire element provides the spark needed to create, whether it is children, works of art, talent for sports, or love relationships.

While the Sun and Moon join forces, it’s time to set some goals relating to all things Leo. When we align with the elements and signs we are more likely to have a successful journey to our goals completion. So, let’s look first at how and what you wish to create. This sign supplies the vision, then it is up to us to follow the breadcrumbs through the path that leads us to the end of the rainbow. This sign is confident and helps us to find the courage to rise to any challenge having to do with stepping out of the shadows. So to use this energy to our advantage we must believe in our own abilities and worthiness.

To help the Sun and Moon on this occasion Mars and Jupiter sextile these luminaries. Mars is stationed at 9 degrees Gemini. When Mars is in this sign you have a sharp and eager mind, and enjoy games and competitions that have a mental component. You’ll like to match wits with someone else. You often can achieve your desires by your verbal skill, your ability to speak clearly, vigorously, and convincingly for what you want.Your drive and energy is more mental than physical. You use your wit, intelligence, communication skills, social sophistication, and awareness to achieve your goals. The sextile from Mars helps to confront difficulties as the mind coordinates with the physical prowess of Leo.

Jupiter is conjunct Mars at 15 degrees Gemini, giving you a sharp and eager mind, and the ability to see connections between seemingly unrelated ideas or worlds, and to bring them together. This helps to blend the creative mind and the conviction that what can be imagined can be created. You can find yourself glued to the media seeking answers about the state of the world, or turning it off to go within for answers. This energy is fertile, and can be fraught with whatever your mind wishes to plant for seeds. So with this potential for fear leading the way, redirect your attention to the positive possibilities ahead. You can benefit from these alignments if you choose your goals wisely. Have you been on the sidelines in a relationship you wish would turn into a romance? Well what are you waiting for? Put your best foot forward and display your beauty for others to witness.

Have you been considering a work of art that you don’t feel creative enough to complete? Get out of your own way and play like a child with your skills and imagination! How about sports, and maybe wanting to compete, but unwilling due to self judgment? Let these energies carry you on the wings of hope and dare to try. Leo is the key to finding the courage, like the frightened Lion in the Wizard of Oz did. Be brave and expand your horizons to be more in the world as a creator. After all, I believe that is why we are here;)

On July 21st at 3:17 AM PDT the Sun and Moon oppose each other on their last degree of the Cancer/Capricorn axis. This rare occasion of two Full Moons in the same month and sign is a grand opportunity for all of us. On the first Full Moon of July we had a T-Square from Neptune, challenging us to see clearly what we wished to accomplish when the Moon was New in Capricorn on January 11th of this year. Were you confronted with your own behavior; whether your commitment kept you on target or Neptune's influence clouded your journey? Escapism is common here.

But this time the Sun and Moon have different lessons for us. The planet Mars at 0 degrees Gemini sextiles the Sun and trines the Moon. The aspect to the Sun will endow us with positive, vital, energetic, active energy. You will enjoy competition, and your initiative and self-confidence can make you a winner. The trine to the Moon gives us emotional permission to be assertive and confront difficulties in a direct, no-nonsense sort of way. You won’t tolerate self-pity or passivity, and you can be rather blunt with others' emotional problems. Part of you may want to say "stop crying and DO something about it.” A very different directive from the first Full Moon.

The Sun has a sextile from Uranus at 26 degrees Taurus, and the Moon is trine Uranus. The Sun’s aspect encourages you to not allow tradition, convention, or other people's expectations dictate how you are going to live your life. You’ll crave freedom, adventure, excitement, and discovery, and won’t be afraid of change. The aspect to the Moon gives you uninhibited and spontaneous consent to do something unexpected or humorous in order to loosen people up and get them out of their rut. You will crave emotional stimulation, excitement, surprises, and anything new.

Next is Neptune at 29 degrees Pisces, which now trines the Sun and sextiles the Moon. The trine gives your imagination a lift, where you are sensitive to anything colorful, beautiful, or magical. You’ll be attracted to artistic and creative pursuits, music, and mysticism. Your spiritual values will color your whole perspective and approach to life. And the sextile to the Moon will enlist the desire to bring beauty and harmony into your domestic life. Your sensitivity requires an atmosphere of peace, free of discord or dissonance. You will give or sacrifice much in order to avoid a fight and to "make everyone happy".

And last but not least is Pluto at 0 degrees Aquarius, which opposes the Sun and conjoins the Moon. Pluto is the planet of destruction

and reconstruction. When it opposes the Sun it makes for a willful, impassioned and sometimes fanatical feelings about your personal motives and desires. You have a need for power and recognition now, and the desire to be Somebody. Pluto says in order to accomplish your goals you may need a bit of transformation of who you thought you were to who you want to be. And Pluto conjunct the Moon is very intense; like a volcano, one minute you’ll seem quite peaceful and the next you are exploding with great force and unexpected fury. The intensity of your reactions may surprise even you. Your feelings and desires can be so compelling that you’ll do things against your better judgment and reason. You can also be very manipulative now, in a subtle way, affecting your personal relationships.

So where a Full Moon can alert us to our success or lack of it, in the Cancer/Capricorn axis we are reminded that 'content' and 'container' are like yin and yang; they constitute each other. The soft substance of the Cancer quality, emotional, sensitive, and vulnerable— needs the solid, structured, and objective qualities of Capricorn to contain it. We grow stronger when we have both in balance. So in order to use this second Full Moon opportunity we have the support of the planets mentioned here to finalize our attempts to see clearly how we can improve our self esteem by doing what we say whether it comes out of our minds and hearts compassionately or in an impassioned release of pent up energy. It’s really time for the truth to be told and the next versions of ourselves to be born. Be brave and honest and work through the consequences of your actions.

On July 5th at 3:57 PM PDT the Sun and Moon align at 14 degrees Cancer 23 minutes. This New Moon has the potential to affect our emotions in a powerful way, and here’s how.

This Cardinal Water sign represents Mother; the creator who gives birth and provides sustinence to the creation, whether it be human, animal, plant, or otherwise. She is ruled by the Moon who lights the way through otherwise dark passages. The Water element describes her fluidity, the ability to hold or fill empty space with compassion and love.

As the Summer season has begun, this sign heralds the blessings we receive at this time of year. And now with the New Moon it’s planning time! In order to work in harmony with the energies our plans can center around improving our home or planning a move, making peace with relationships with family and the women in our lives, nurturing ourselves and others with healthy cooking, growing flowers and fruits/vegetables; all things we can be proud of. This sign is a deep dive into the subconscious that can reveal memories that enhance your daily life. Take the time to walk down memory lane with those you love now as it surely will put a smile on your faces:)

On this New Moon, the planet Mars sextiles the Sun and Moon at 19 degrees Taurus. This is a fortunate aspect and brings more energy from Mars to embellish, beautify your surroundings so they truly reflect you. It also lends determination and dedication to any project. The Sun and Moon also have a trine from Saturn at 19 degrees Pisces. Saturn in this aspect helps us to set goals for ourselves that are modest enough to actually achieve. You will have a strong sense of responsibility and be very conscientious in fulfilling your obligations.

You’ll have an inner poise and balance that enables you to act in a cool, efficient manner during emotional traumas and stress. You can better keep your perspective and objectivity about highly charged emotional issues now. You are quietly supportive and faithful to your friends and loved ones at this time.

So with all this productive energy it sounds like a successful recipe for more security and peace in your life. That is if you’re looking to improve your domestic existence, and who isn’t? These goal setting times are important, as they set up our next awareness of just how to bring about what we wish for. Always ask for guidance from within and pace yourself in order to achieve your highest dreams. Some of my fondest memories are about working hard to improve my home with whatever I could afford and standing back to admire a job well done. It’s time to make yourself proud and recreate.
