The Summer Solstice 2025

This year the first moment Summer begins on June 20th at 7:42 PM PDT. The Sun enters the sign of Cancer at 0 degrees 0 minutes, let the celebrations begin! Every year at this time the Sun starts the season with this Cardinal Water Sign. Cardinal as it is the first month of the season, and the Water element quenches our thirst for family fun, compassion and love. It is the sign of the Mother that gives birth and sustenance to their creation, whether it be human, animal, plant, or otherwise. It is an active time leading with the longest day of the year; the brightest, most hopeful time, when the sprouts have sprouted and life is growing stronger every day.

The Sun is supported well with many aspects from the planets. Striking me as unique is the exac sextile to the Moon, also at 0 degrees in the sign of Taurus. These two signs compliment each other with a balance of Taurus energy, as when it is used positively, it lends the individual the resolve to stick to it, to be persistent, to go the extra mile. Emotional tendencies with the Moon are tempered in grounded Taurus, making calm decisions possible.

The Sun is also sextile Mars at 2 degrees Virgo. Mars=energy, and while in this sign we tend to work hard, see the imperfections and labor over them to create harmony. This aspect helps us to be disciplined, play by the rules, and do things right. Mars in Virgo is a great time to plow through those daunting tasks we’ve been putting off!

The Sun is conjunct Jupiter at 2 degrees Cancer. Jupiter is “exalted” in Cancer, meaning it can express its full potential here. Jupiter is a benefic planet, associated with good luck, providence, happiness, and growth. All of the best qualities of Cancer are boosted now, so set your sights on sensing what is necessary; reading between the lines and hearing the message from within it. Cancer is a feminine/passive energy; receptive, yet with the cardinal energy, it leads. Like the Mother in a family, she is a different leader than the Father, yet she leads.

The Sun is square Saturn at 1 degree Aries.  You may feel personally inadequate and doubt yourself at this time. But if you take a cautious and careful look at your life with a responsible and disciplined mindset with regard to your obligations, you should shine! You tend to work and struggle more than you need to with this square, and to take yourself too seriously. Keep this in mind.

And lastly, the Sun is square Neptune at 29 degrees Taurus. You can be extremely sensitive and imaginative now, and you can get lost in your dreams, fantasies, and visions. You are attracted to artistic and creative pursuits, the world of color, beauty, and emotion. You are also drawn to mysticism with deep spiritual aspirations and yearnings. Gentle and peace-loving, you may feel you lack the will and competitive spirit needed to make your way in the world. Do not seek to escape, but be aware that the difficult realities of life are here to teach us how to proceed in a more advantageous way.

The reason I cast charts for moments like this is to better understand the energies we are surrounded by and how to use them for our highest good. We are supported and challenged here, to open our hearts without feeling vulnerable to what could happen. Full Moon in Sagittarius 2025

On June 11th at 12:43 AM PDT we have a Full Moon in the sign of Sagittarius. The Sun and Moon oppose each other; the Sun at 20 degrees Gemini 39 minutes, and the Moon at 20 degrees Sagittarius 39 minutes. These two signs are Mutable, declaring the end of a season before beginning another. Mutable signs are mental, having to change from one thing to the next, and learn the best ways to accomplish tasks. Sagittarius tends to be a loner even in a crowd, unique, creative and full of energy.

Here we are in the last month of Spring, getting ready for Summer when the Solstice arrives on June 20th. So while we are wrapping up the season, we have the Sun and Moon in their yearly mental axis; Gemini/logical mind and Sagittarius/intuitive mind. We can use these energies to balance and contemplate our next activities. Back in 2024 on December 1st the Moon was new in Sagittarius; a time for setting goals that align with this Fire sign’s passion. During that time of year we are observing our connection with Spirit, regardless of religion or beliefs. We have the opportunity to connect while the veil between here and there thins. This creative sign ignites our abilities to generate and produce beauty in many forms, be it art, music, writings and communications. What were you dreaming up and hoping to create? If not a material creation, possibly a stronger connection with ALL THAT IS?

Now with the Moon Full in Sagittarius we are supported by Mars in Leo as it trines the Moon and sextiles the Sun. Mars brings more fire to the occasion, as Mars and Leo are both ruled by this element. Mars is fearless, ready to fight for what is right. And while in this sign, it is fighting for self expression without limitation. Confidence can soar as we explore our own abilities without fear. There can be breakthroughs as we take action to initiate change, set new boundaries to clear the path to success. While the Sun in Gemini pushes us to pursue logic, Mars and the Full Moon inspire us to pursue meaning, to search for what life is really all about. Finding the balance now between the lower and higher mind is available to us, so take the time to meditate or contemplate the full meaning of what is our purpose. With the insights we discover we can grow beyond limitation and evolve our beliefs.

While Mars is in favorable aspects to these luminaries, it squares Uranus in Taurus at this time. This can make for a strong urge to break free from restrictions and rebel against authority without regard for the consequences, leading to significant disruption or conflict in your life. Or, it can lead to innovative and creative breakthroughs and a new personal life. It’s all about how you direct this energy as Uranus seeks freedom. Using your physical energies to create rather than destroy is the goal.

Mercury in Cancer is very active with aspects from Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Pluto. Mercury rules Gemini, the sign the Sun is in. The sextile to Venus in Taurus brings compassion and love to the mix, where our minds are on helping those we care about. The conjunction to Jupiter in Cancer encourages you to use your communication skills to uplift others, share wisdom, and promote harmony. The square to Saturn in Aries inspires hard work and attention to detail when making big decisions. The square to Neptune in Aries can distract us with confusion and negative thinking; seek out trusted advisors before acting on the changes you wish to make. And the inconjunct to Pluto in Aquarius reminds us to be extremely clear in our intentions and with our words. Even giving or receiving simple instructions can get twisted. Avoid intentional deception or fraud.

So much to think about at this time before the Summer season begins! But what an favorable time to dwell on how to put our best foot forward. Consider your gifts, your uniqueness, and what you can bring to the table of life. We all have something to share from our deepest hearts with the world. Now is the time to consider just what that is.

New Moon in Gemini 2025

On May 26th at 8:02 PM PDT the Sun and Moon align at 6 degrees Gemini, 6

minutes. Time for the mental gymnastics to begin:)

Gemini is a Mutable Air sign; Mutable as it is the last month of Spring leading us into Summer. It holds both seasons’ qualities in its weather and changes taking place in nature. Air signs are mental, intelligent, quick to respond to information and how to use it. With the Sun and Moon in this sign we are invited to rethink our reality and recreate it. The Gemini twins will assist us all by keeping things light and amusing.

There are many planets supporting the Sun and Moon at this time. Working alongside these luminaries is Mercury at 2 degrees Gemini. Mercury rules Gemini and is well placed in this sign, and will grace us with its energies through to June 8th. Mercury is all about communications, connections, and social experiences. What a great time to consider outside the box what we can accomplish free of fear of mistakes. This adventurous energy sees both sides of situations, the pros and the cons, without emotional attachment. This sign is very detached, giving it the ability to make the wisest choices.

Saturn sextiles the Sun and Moon at 0 degrees Aries. Saturn is the taskmaster, and just began its 2 ½ year cycle into the sign of independence, action and achieving goals. When it enters a new sign it opens up a new area of life to learn lessons through. While in the sign of Pisces for the last transit we were learning about trusting our inner voice to lead us through the darkness. Now, Saturn engages us with fearless determination to move past the shadows. Saturn is considered the Lord of Karma, and tends to press on areas of our lives that we need to step up and take greater responsibility for. Take Saturn’s lead and contemplate where fear of failure has kept you from truly exploring your talents.

Neptune is also sextile the Sun and Moon at 1 degree Aries. It is conjunct Saturn. Saturn helps to give form to the insight and imagination of Neptune, while Neptune inspires hope and faith in something worth working hard for. These two planets are very different in their approach to life, Neptune in this sign will now encourage you to look into your goals of the past and see if they are still relevant in today's world. Saturn in Aries will probably not let you get away with avoiding it for long. Avoidance of responsibility or trying to dodge the consequences of your behavior will only make your situation worse. Let go of the past and cast a new path for the future.

The last planet to favorably aspect these luminaries is Pluto at 3 degrees Aquarius, which trines them. Pluto is the planet of dismantling what limits us in order to rebuild. When in this sign, which happens through March 8, 2043, we will move from the old systems into a more progressive, collective focused future. We have the opportunity to break free from constraints, expand our consciousness, and embrace the potential for radical change, both individually and collectively.

It appears obvious now that changes are happening in our world, hopefully we will shift from a war ridden world to one of compassion; understanding we are culturally different but we are all spiritual beings having a human experience. Look within for the answers that will take you from separation to unity. Enjoy the New Moon and write down your hopes, dreams and plans for your future!
