On August 27th at 1:17 AM PDT, the Sun and Moon are joined at 4 degrees Virgo 4 minutes. Here we are setting our intentions for what we are creating, which will culminate on the Full Moon in Virgo March 7th, 2023. When we are bathed in this energy, we set our intentions according to this influence.

Virgo is a Mutable Earth Sign. It is signaling the last month of Summer, crops are finishing their life cycle and fully abundant, and hopefully your cheeks are sunkist! It is a glorious time of year with hints of Autumn in the air. It is an Earth Sign, grounded, practical and dedicated to doing a good job. No matter what the job may be, Virgo’s are perfectionists, and details matter. Virgo is ruled by Mercury, along with Gemini until another planet is found in our system.

Mercury is the messenger, ruling the mind and intellect, and Virgo’s tend to be dedicated to service and caring for Earth’s beings. The symbol for Virgo is the Virgin. Virgin’s are pure and right; and Virgo’s strive to be just that. The symbol also encompasses fertility and the process one must undertake to bear fruit, in the field and at home.

So the wisest objective at this time of our creation, is to see what a double hit of Virgo can bring us. It has to do with all that this sign rules; our health, our work, service to others, our habits and cleanliness, how organized we are. We know when we set a New Moon goal, it will marinate in our mind over time and bring results through the actions we take. The six months it takes from New Moon to Full Moon, in the same sign, informs us we can breathe, think clearly and make a plan. Look around you, what needs to be done, something you may have been putting off but would feel great to have it behind you? Any mental busywork, or cleaning out a room and reorganizing the closet, or tidying up the garden at the end of the season are healthy Virgoan goals.

One issue can be an exact square to the Sun and Moon from Mars at 4 degrees Gemini. This abundance of mental download can make one irritable, aggressive and impatient. You must watch what you say and do to others at this time.

The good news is this nervous energy can get you involved and stop putting off what needs attention. Just remember to speak to others how you wish to be spoken to.

The second issue is a T-Square between Venus in Leo, Saturn in Aquarius, and Uranus in Taurus. These fixed signs are stubborn and dug in. The relief here comes from Uranus in Taurus. Changes need to happen in our world, and these changes begin at home. There may be surprising money issues that force us to see life differently, or scarcity where there once was abundance. Not only the world needs to change, but our lives in the midst of it. If you prepare for any shortcomings you won’t be as affected by what comes your way.

We have an opportunity to consider what direction we are being pulled in. How can we improve ourselves and our surroundings in order to be a better person in the world? One thing to resist at this time is making excuses due to low self esteem. This critical sign (Virgo) can be a downer if you nitpick and tear apart any sense of goodness. Set doable goals for yourself and those you care about, and slow but sure implement them into your lives. Take an initiative that improves your health and well being, work on projects that bring you joy, and follow the Golden Rule. You will be better for it and those lives you touch will be too!

On August 11th at 6:35 PM PDT the Full Moon in Aquarius arrives! The Full Moon is the culmination of hopes, dreams and goals set on the New Moon in Aquarius back in February of this year. Take a stroll down memory lane and observe what your ambitions were at that time. How did you do? That was a time of taking a chance, being open minded and creating without fear. Aquarius is the sign of groups and associations, and takes us in the direction of combining our energies with others for a common goal.

Aquarius is a Fixed Air Sign. It sits in the center of the Winter season, stuck in its ways but open to suggestion! This is due to it being an Air sign, intellectual and mentally astute. It encourages us to KNOW, not just pussy foot around a subject. Aquarians make great friends as they can be trusted. Astrologers say that Aquarius is an Air Sign of high humidity, meaning it is compassionate intellect. It is a teaching sign, an energy that has arrived at conclusions and wishes to share them. They make great professors and mentors. The planet Uranus rules Aquarius, and is the activator as planets go. It is such a restless energy that it seeks out our rigidity and frustrated spirit and shakes it out of its complacency. Without Uranus rattling our cage now and then we would settle into destructive and limiting patterns.

The symbol for Aquarius is the Waterbearer, or waves of water. The pouring of the water from a reliable source and sharing it with others is the meaning. The water nourishes, like knowledge. It is bringing people into the fold, like baptism. Aquarians share their philosophy willingly. The highest use of this energy is to open up to the profound and share it with good friends. To see the family of humanity we belong to and work towards our highest manifestation.

When we have this Supermoon in Aquarius, the last one of this year, we can expect to be looking at the conflict between our proud individual self (Sun in Leo), and our team player (Moon in Aquarius). The emotions, our point of view, and the situation we are in will beg attention. There are some planetary influences exaggerating this Fixed opposition between the Sun and Moon to look at.

To begin with, the Moon is conjunct with the planet Saturn at 22 Aquarius. This tight conjunction puts a restraint on the otherwise risk taking Moon by saying “let’s break through, but cautiously.” Rather than the quick response, take time to look things over.

There is a T-Square between the Moon and Saturn in Aquarius; Mars, Uranus and the North Node in Taurus; and the Sun in Leo. The outlet for resolve lands in Taurus. Where the Sun is afflicted with Mars bringing aggression and a Me First attitude, Saturn making you feel inadequate and full of self doubt, and Uranus making you feel restless and unstable things can get difficult! Add to this the Moon and Saturn feeling the pressure from Mars as impatience with a hot temper, and Uranus making you want excitement and change. The keys to remember here are Mars in Taurus is tenacious about setting goals and achieving them. Time to be reliable and productive. Uranus in Taurus rebels against repressive attitudes and wants us to be uninhibited. So, the pressure is on to let go before it turns into an explosion of emotions. Get out of your head and make some changes happen, free yourself.

Whatever your goals were back in February, look at your life now and the associations you have made with others. Did you say what needed to be heard? Have you dealt with your relationships with others and kept yourself as an individual? Or have you lost yourself in all the chaos and forgotten YOU? Time to see where you sit in this conflict, and what you can do to remedy it. Take the high road and admit to yourself the truth, without fear, shame or blame, and chart your course for the highest version of you!

On July 28th at 10:55 AM PDT the Sun and Moon conjoin at 5 degrees Leo 39 minutes. This New Moon is a very creative one, full of potential for new directions in regards to your goals.

Leo is a powerful Fixed Fire Sign. It lands in the middle of the summer season, when it’s hot, really summer, solid and sure. It’s when you want to plant yourself in a lawn chair with a cool drink and just sit. Relax, enjoy; this time of year is built for it! Leo is the second Fire sign of the zodiac, full of fury and initiative. Leo’s energy is creative, ardent in love, full of drama and uninhibited behavior at its best. It can be over the top, when too bold and pushy. At its worst, Leo’s energy can be fickle, selfish and touchy. At its best, shining bright like the Sun in everything they do.

Leo is ruled by the Sun, the center and source of our solar system. That is the demeanor of a Leo; the center and source of their environment. With this seat comes the entitlement of authority and kingly duties. The misuse of this seat brings abuse of power and authority. The Lion is Leo’s symbol. The lion and lioness are very similar to the king and queen of the savanna. They hold court with their pride, they rule fiercely and protect theirs until their death. Leo energy inspires respect and admiration. The highest use of Leo power is to be a creative performer on life's stage. To inspire and uplift through their talents. To shine and be an example of what others can accomplish. And, to be generous with their power and give willingly without strings attached.

So when the New Moon and the Sun are together, they focus a light in one direction. This time of the year is yours to focus on your love interests and relationships, your children and all your creations. What do you still have in you to create? Now is the perfect time to dream big, take yourself beyond the limits you’ve set for yourself. Maybe before you weren't able to take the steps you can now take, however small or large they may be. You have a great opportunity to access this power as Jupiter is trine the Sun and Moon at 8 degrees Aries. This helps you to forget the past, be more agreeable and tolerant, and truly enjoy making others happy with your actions. What comes to mind is you’ve wanted your own garden, one that provides food, aroma’s and beauty to add to your life. But, you only have a patio...hmmm....How about grabbing some pots, soil and plant starts that will work with the light you have? Just an example to show you your ideas are doable, no matter how limited your space, time or money is. Creating brings joy into our lives, so stop wasting time and get started!

One glitch in the works is Mercury at 18 degrees Leo. It squares Mars in Taurus; this can make for critical thoughts, debates while not listening to others, arguments. It

opposes Saturn in Aquarius, where our minds want the facts, no abstractions. And it squares Uranus which can produce scattered reasoning and conclusions. This T-Square between these planets looks for answers in the direction of Uranus in Taurus. The last time Uranus was in Taurus was 1934-1942; a time when great changes were made in our material lives, our nation and our world. The United States was in the Depression, and entered WW2 in 1941. We seem to be in a similar situation, which can be scary and paralyzing for many. But when we look at our lives and our security, and we see how others have weathered the storms of the past, we can allow ourselves to stay creatively optimistic and flexible in how we continue on.

So on this occasion it is important to stay open minded, to gravitate toward originality. Enjoy the abundance of Summer, walk barefoot outside, take in the fragrance of the flowers and watch the butterflies:) Celebrate with others and show the love you have inside of you.
