On May 30th at 4:30 AM PST the Sun and Moon align at 9 degrees Gemini 3 minutes. We are in for some new ways of thinking and looking at reality, with opportunities to communicate our feelings and be heard. It’s all in the delivery.

Gemini is the first Air Sign of the Solar year. Air signs are all about the mental realm, steeped in thoughts and a need to share them. This is a brilliant energy to bring about new ways of troubleshooting old problems that have kept you stumped. It is a lite hearted, humorous thought provoking passion for knowledge that seeks to solve problems without going too deep. It is a Mutable sign; the last month of Spring leading us into Summer. Mutable signs are flexible and adaptable to change. And boy, do we need a change at this time. Not a time to be depressed and stuck, but a great time for curiosity, communications and research.

Mercury rules Gemini; the Messenger of the Gods represented by Hermes. The mental capacity and the speedy delivery of those thoughts are what Gemini’s can excel in. The challenge is to stay connected to the world through not only the mind, but physically and emotionally as well. Gemini’s can be aloof and cool in their communications. The glyph for Gemini is the Twins, as there is a tendency for a dual personality, with the ability to see all sides of a situation. At one moment, the Gemini can be considerate and compassionate, and the next can throttle you with a criticism that leaves you questioning what just happened. Quicksilver Messenger Service with this sign.

So on this occasion, we are setting intentions for what we want to bring about. We have a greater capacity to broaden our scope, as many ideas come our way. To be able to open our minds to new possibilities, we must make room and clear the clutter of the past. It can be a playful and witty time, lifting us out of the drama and setting a course for new horizons. The issue can be overthinking things, scattering our thoughts in so many directions that we don’t accomplish what we desire. One great use of this sign is writing, whether it's storytelling or making lists of things to take care of. Our minds are on overtime here, and the planet Mercury is retrograde in Taurus until June 3rd.

When retrograde, it is time to stroll down memory lane and collect our thoughts on what still needs attention. Get inspired with all means of communication, from reading and writing, to listening to music and lyrics, to calling friends and family. And it’s a great time to be creative in so many ways!

The Sun and Moon are sextile Mars and Jupiter, conjoined in the sign of Aries. Sextiles are positive in that it makes for a cooperative and supportive relationship between planets and luminaries. This combination works together to provide us not only the mindset, but the courage to make said changes. Mars and Jupiter in Aries are strong and powerful, and direct our minds to seek personal power and success. This helps to focus our thoughts on ourselves and our immediate surroundings, rather than be all over the map. You’ll have a positive, "can-do" attitude and will tackle life's challenges with relish. This self-confidence and will to succeed will show you how much you can do and how far you can go. Forward-looking, enterprising, and enthusiastic about new projects, you’re not happy in situations that do not offer you challenges and the potential for growth and expansion in the future - no matter how secure or satisfactory they may be in other respects.

To make the best use of this time and energies, allow yourself to create a new model to live by. Dream up your most satisfying version of who and what you can be and can accomplish. There are times in life to sit back and ponder; this isn’t one of them. With the combination of energies at work, we can use this powerful opportunity to rethink and renegotiate our life as it has been, and turn it into more closely resembling who we want to be. As mentioned before, we need to “make room” for what we wish to create in our life by letting go of what stands in the way. We can do it! We may take small steps or huge leaps in the right direction, and achieve our goals.

We might even have a surprise come our way that shows us new, unimagined possibilities we never believed could happen. So, the trick is to keep an open mind, and to remember we have many teachers around us in our lives who can reveal truths and ideas that can help us on our way to fulfillment. Gemini is the sign of family, neighbors and friends; and at this time we are the teachers and students in this area of our lives. Share your knowledge and stay alert in all your exchanges to find the feather of truth for yourself and others. Have some fun, laugh and express yourself fully!

At 9:14 PM PST the Moon is full in Scorpio. The Sun at 25 degrees Taurus and the Moon at 25 degrees Scorpio exactly oppose each other. At this time we have a Total Lunar Eclipse, so this Full Moon is very important, in so many ways!

To begin with, the Scorpio Full Moon has been celebrated by cultures that revere the birth, life and death of Buddha. Vesak festivals are held yearly in May during the Full Moon. It is a time of festivities and honoring the teachings he gave us. We couldn’t be reminded at a better time, with the Great Invocation:

“From the point of Light within the Mind of God Let light stream forth into the minds of men. Let Light descend on Earth. From the point of Love within the Heart of God Let love stream forth into the hearts of men. May Christ return to Earth. From the Center where the Will of God is known Let purpose guide the little wills of men The purpose which the Masters know and serve. From the Center which we call the race of men Let the Plan of Love and Light work out. And may it seal the door where evil dwells

Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.”

A Lunar Eclipse Full Moon is potent, especially with the Sun and Moon in these fixed signs. Lunar Eclipses encourage us to visit our “shadow self”; to see what is really running the show in our lives. We must face the truth about our emotions and what we fear as the energies exaggerate our feelings. With our sensitivities heightened we are prone to respond with breakdowns, breakups, or breakthroughs!

Scorpio is a Fixed Water sign. Fixed as it lands on the second month of a season (Autumn), ensuring a determined and at times stubborn energy. The element of Water makes it very sensitive and somewhat suspicious. Because this energy is so powerful and at times touchy, it can be difficult to navigate. Driven by passionate feelings and needing to control in order to feel safe, this sign can be interpreted as “if you want it done right you need to do it yourself.” Scorpios are typically managers, second in command, or strong leaders.

Scorpio’s glyph of the Scorpion shows the lower nature of this sign, with its mighty sting. Crossing a Scorpio can be dangerous; grudges can be held for a long time if they feel slighted. The higher nature of Scorpio is depicted as the eagle, flying high and seeking wisdom from above. The ruling Planet is Pluto, the destroyer and transformer. So when we have a Scorpio Full Moon there are many potentials!

This year we have the Sun conjunct the North Node in Taurus, and the Full Moon Eclipse conjunct the South Node in Scorpio. The nodes indicate our mission in this lifetime opposite what we have done over and over in other lifetimes. The South Node shows us where we have been before, and what we wish to release to make this lifetime right. The theme of Taurus and Scorpio energies will be revisited over and over this year, guiding us to transformation. But, the common ground here is looking at the haves and the have nots, relating to finances, to comforts like food and shelter, and security. These are big headlines in the news right now, as these influences are felt throughout the world.

So, if you are feeling insecure you are bound to be affected by this event.

The good news is we have planets working with these luminaries to bring us hope and optimism in the midst of chaos. Mars is in Pisces, sextiling the Sun and trining the Moon. It lends self confidence and an intuitive sense as to what to do for our highest good. Neptune is one degree away from Mars in Pisces, with the same aspects to the Sun and Moon. Neptune, which rules Pisces, is right at home here. Adding more spiritual values to color your intention, it can be a very creative time where beautifying your world brings much joy.

Pluto gets involved by trining the Sun and sextiling the Moon. You will find you have access to a deep belief in your own power and your ability to survive any change, and emerge victoriously from any difficulty. You are able to handle an emotional crisis very well with Pluto’s help, and you can find the deep roots of emotional problems and how to cure them.

The one planet that gives this event a challenge is Saturn, which in Aquarius squares the Sun and Moon; T-Square. The challenge is self doubt. You will want to be highly disciplined and responsible to your obligations and duties and may struggle more than you need to, and take yourself too seriously. Your insecurity can make you feel that you must do something or be something other than what you are in order to receive approval and acceptance from others. You can gain inner security and strength through periods of solitude if you view them as times to nourish yourself and develop your own interests, rather than as times of loneliness.

So, much to consider here. We can use this Full Moon Eclipse to witness our own dark side as represented by our fears and worries, and remind ourselves we can change ourselves for the better. We can become better friends, better partners when we access our own foibles and remedy them. We are malleable beings, shape shifters if you will; the choice is yours. In the midst of this crazy and wonderful world, who do you want to be?

On April 30th at 1:27 PM PDT the Sun and Moon conjoin at 10 degrees Taurus 28 minutes. Also, there is a Partial Solar Eclipse 15 minutes after the moment of the New Moon! We have an upgrade available to us; through love, purity of purpose, and taking the best of care of ourselves and those around us.

This is the first Eclipse of the year, and with it comes opportunities. When we have a Solar Eclipse, astrologically speaking; it lights the “dark side”, or our known/unknown issues of wherever it lands in our birth chart. The house placement as well as any close in degree planets take on great importance. For instance, in my birth chart this Eclipse will sit in my third house; no planets anywhere close. The 3rd house has to do with siblings, relatives, communications and short distance travel. Also, I consider the bodily effects it may induce, which would include my nervous system, and my thinking abilities. All of this adds up to what is actually taking place in my life the following day, so I get to consider how I can participate in this opportunity for my highest good. Knowledge is power. If you research your own chart you can find where this event will take place (house placement, etc.) and how it will light your way.

Taurus is the first Earth Sign of the zodiac. It is grounded, responsible, dedicated and resourceful. It is a Fixed Sign, landing in the second month of the season of Spring. Taurus is downright stubborn and can be difficult to budge once their mind is made up. But this can be an asset as it keeps the Tauren on task until the end. Taurus is ruled by the planet Venus. This planet is feminine/passive in its energy, the embodiment of the Roman Goddess, who represents love, beauty, fertility and prosperity. The fine vibration of this planet encourages grace, compassion and devotion.

Consider that whether or not you are a Taurus, we all are influenced by the signs the luminaries and planets are in. We all have 12 houses in our charts, and somewhere in there is Taurus. So, when there is a New Moon, Full Moon, Lunar or Solar Eclipse, we all are being guided to modify ourselves or our behavior somehow. The more we learn about our own blueprints, our birth chart, we can put this information into perspective and expand our awareness of what is being asked of us by our higher self. These are portals of possibilities, depending on how we participate in them! And with every New Moon, it is time to set our intention for what we are creating.

As we look at the planets and their relationships to this event, the Sun and Moon are sextiled by Mars at 11 degrees Pisces. This planet brings a no nonsense approach to the occasion, with confidence and energy, and a willingness to fight for the underdog. Mars in this sign is not ego driven and works well with the luminaries. The Sun and Moon are joined in a close conjunction by Uranus at 14 degrees Taurus. This inspires the unconventional approach, original thinking and a passion for freedom. Unexpected developments, sudden changes and breakthroughs are all part of Uranus’s strategy. In Taurus, again where it lands in your chart is where these improvements can take place.

With the North Node of the Moon in Taurus, and the South Node in Scorpio; these signs will be a recurring theme this year. Taurus=personal values, and Scorpio=values shared with others. It is time to do a wide overview of where you sit in this axis. The world is being affected by these energies and we are all being urged to improve. There is a balance to be struck, where we care equally about our own well being and the success of others. These planets have to do with money and possessions, as well as what provides comfort and nourishment. The issues of sharing versus hoarding, generosity versus manipulation come into play. The highest version of these energies will encourage us to first and foremost take excellent care of ourselves in order to share and provide for others. Wherever you live in fear of lack, get to work. The very notion that you are hopeless brings lack. Look around you for a way out of your own limitations, there couldn’t be a better time to think outside the box for answers. As the world shouts shortages, supply chain issues, high prices, it’s time to prepare. Consider what you will need when this occurs so that you’re not caught off guard. Stock up now.

The simple answer is to find love in your heart for yourself and others. Take a walk in their shoes, look at their chart, and find the source of their actions. Be wise and understanding, keep yourself out of harm's way, but extend your compassion and grow. The knowledge you gain from really knowing yourself and others can only improve your life and take you from judgment to the freedom from prejudice. Understanding what motivates us is enlightening. Take the challenge and set your intention with the balance in mind that we are all here together.
