On August 8th, at 6:50 AM PDT, the Sun and Moon are stationed at 16 degrees Leo 14 minutes. At that moment, we begin another cycle with our thoughts, visions and hopes leading the way.

We are in the middle of summer, and this double Leo energy is powerful! The Sun is full throttle and everything from plants, animals, insects, to people are thriving. Now is the time to set the bar high with our goals for this New Moon cycle. Just what can we accomplish?

Leo is ruled by the Sun, and like the Sun this energy shines brightly. Leo is a fire sign, mighty, high powered, authoritative and strong. It’s a no nonsense sign that strives to lead through domination, whether it’s creatively or stubbornly. Being a fixed sign, it is unshakable. It’s high potential can be lost on those whose charts don’t support it’s blaze, and can inspire arrogance, self pity and victim consciousness.

There are some major aspects to this duo that shake things up a bit. Uranus is stationed at 14 degrees Taurus, squaring the Sun and Moon. This aspect will rattle your cage if you feel unduly limited, frustrated, or not content. You may have to experience unexpected changes, nervousness, unsettling feelings in order to get to the source of your obstacles. This planet in the sign of Taurus is looking for unconventional practicalities. New ways to deal with normal things. Getting past the feelings that justify our own shortcomings, that keep us on a perpetual cycle of unhappiness.

The duo has a wide conjunction with Mercury at 23 degrees Leo. This lends the intellect to the mix. This can help or hurt depending on your self esteem. The plus side is the tendency to think big, to examine the potentials of what you can accomplish with this fiery combination of energies. There is much to gain with the right mindset. But, if you already feel you are stuck and unhappy, this can gain momentum and become a full on pity party;) My suggestion is to do some inner work before this New Moon.

Spirit is showing me making lists. Lists of pros and cons. Starting with current goals

that are creative. What do you wish to create? Something about yourself, your environment, or maybe your abilities? See where your writing lands, on the pros or cons side. For instance, I want to clear my garden of the plants that are finished producing (pro side), but I’m so tired, or busy or some excuse to do it (con side). So what to do about it. Then I write how to best deal with this creatively! Leo energy is so creative, and with the Sun, Moon and Mercury working together the solutions are endless!

The important thing here is to think outside the box, color outside the lines. Yes it feels wrong, but why? We have been conditioned to do things a certain way since we were born, and now is the time to change that. Fearlessly, like Leo the Lion, charge ahead and attack our conditioning and transform ourselves into a more adaptable, flexible, and unlimited version of ourselves. The power of these planets and luminaries support these changes, so why not now?

The New Moon will set the course for the possibilities of these goals to be met on the Full Moon later in the month. Feel the pride in yourself that the Sun in Leo inspires, and celebrate the prospect of arriving at the new you. Every time you change your mind about some fear, phobia, or obstacle, you free yourself from unnecessary pain and suffering. Stop repeating, start changing!

On July 23rd, 2021 at 7:36 PM PDT we have a Full Moon in the sign of Aquarius. The Moon is stationed at 1 degree Aquarius 26 minutes, and the Sun is 1 degree Leo 26 minutes. But, we also have ANOTHER Full Moon in Aquarius on August 22nd, when the Sun and Moon are opposed at 29 degrees. Wow! Just what does this mean for us?

Astrologers look at this phenomena of a double Full Moon as an ALERT. The first one will bring to light a culmination of what was set in motion with the Cancer New Moon we experienced on July 9th. Did you take the lead with nurturing yourself and others, connecting heart to heart with your loved ones? This Full Moon in Aquarius focuses on your uniqueness and how you perceive your reality. Aquarius is an Air Sign of “high humidity”, meaning compassionate intellect. Air signs are typically analyzing and communicating ideas, and this Air sign is concerned with humanity. It is ruled by the planet Uranus, the activator; a restless energy that seeks freedom, friendship and like minded conversations. Aquarius is a Fixed sign, and stubbornly persists in its quest for independence and truth. So we are collectively looking at the goals we set for ourselves and our wishes for our planet.

The Sun is opposing the Moon in the sign of Leo. Leo is ruled by the Sun and is exalted in this sign. Leo is a Fire sign, and its nature is to shine and light our way. The energy is strong, regal, authoritative; but it focuses on the self. This Sunsign desires admiration through creativity, love and romance, and generosity. The highest use of Leo power is to be a creative performer on life‘s stage. To inspire and uplift through one’s talents. To shine and be an example of what others can accomplish. To be generous with our power and give willingly without strings attached.

The Sun and Moon are affected by the planet Pluto at 25 degrees Capricorn; it opposes the Sun and conjoins the Moon. Pluto is the transformer, likened to the Phoenix crashing, burning, and rising out of the ashes changed. In the sign of Capricorn, Pluto is involved in transforming the structures we live by; government, finances, authorities in our lives. So while we are looking at our personal goals (Moon) and our need for recognition and respect (Sun), we may be thrown some global issues to sort out. Capricorn rules our career, profession, and reputation, and these are all subject to changes.

There are many planetary aspects happening simultaneously, the most common being the Inconjunct, or Quincunx. These include Sun inconjunct Jupiter, Moon inconjunct Venus, Mars inconjunct Neptune and Pluto. This aspect usually brings challenges that require adjusting to a new understanding. Where we usually seek harmony and balance, these planets point out where we must adapt, accommodate, and alter our actions for best results. We realize we have many parts to us, some get along and some don’t, but they all need a voice. This gives rise to the notion we are a work in progress, and in order to stay fluid in our efforts we must admit we have more to learn.

So this first Full Moon in Aquarius will ignite our imagination with profound objectives, newly formed ideas born of remnants of the past. It will set the pace for this mid-summer month by shaking us out of our doldrums and firing our jets into action. Allow the realizations to come forward from the inconjunct planetary influences to better come to terms with fine tuning your understanding of yourself.

Then, watch for the second Full Moon in Aquarius for the radical changes to be brought to the physical world. We have a huge opportunity to grow emotionally and see ourselves as part of the whole, working toward a more united humanity with the shared value of one for all and all for one.

On July 9th at 6:16 PM PDT the Sun and Moon conjoin at 18 degrees Cancer 1 minute. At this moment, we also have many planets involved in many aspects that affect the Sun and New Moon. We have a grand opportunity here if we know how to navigate it.

To begin with, the Moon rules the sign of Cancer. It is the sign of the Mother, home, and family. This Water Sign is very sensitive and compassionate, and very strong as well. It is a Cardinal sign; one who leads and delegates. The energy is very resourceful, finding ways to respond to stimuli through listening to the inner voice, or intuition. It is a passive sign, but active energy, and wants to be busily working on whatever is necessary. So when the Moon is in Cancer, we naturally think about what is most comforting, familiar, and emotional. And, when it’s a New Moon, we have a brand new cycle ahead of us.

First the good news;) The Sun and Moon are sextile Uranus at 14 degrees Taurus. A sextile is a harmonic aspect between planets and luminaries. The planet Uranus represents freedom, change, thinking outside the box. It compliments these luminaries in Cancer, in the sign of Taurus, as it directs our attention to the Earth and it’s well being. It sustains us, after all, and we are the guardians.

The Sun and Moon are trine Neptune at 23 degrees Pisces. An even more fortunate aspect; the trine delivers flowing energies from Neptune adding more care and empathy for ourselves and others. This Water sign can see how to proceed by looking at past experiences and making new choices. Pisces is the sign of endings, rules the last house of the Zodiac, and shows us what is important to look at before making new beginnings.

Here come the challenges! The Sun and Moon are opposite Pluto at 25 degrees Capricorn. The opposition brings high drama, mood swings, relationship issues to the party. Pluto wants to bring transformation through whatever means necessary, so to get ahead of this, look at what pushes your buttons. What stresses you out, makes you feel like you need changes, but looks like it’s impossible. Dig deep for the answers so you're not stuck regretting an outburst. Pluto in Capricorn is concerned with business, finances, and practical affairs. Iron out the wrinkles in your life as presented to you on this occasion; expect the unexpected.

Venus and Mars are conjoined in the sign of Leo. A very proud sign, Leo is a Fire sign, full of fury and initiative. Venus represents what we love and value, and Mars shows the actions we take and the courage we have. Unrelated to the New Moon, but happening simultaneously, these planets square Uranus. Where Uranus was blessing the Sun and Moon, it is challenged by Venus and Mars. Venus under this effect wants emotional excitement, love and romance, and the freedom to explore. Mars is restless, impulsive and rebellious. So a sudden attraction to someone new? An infatuation can happen that interferes with the status quo. If any of this rings true, you might consider getting to work on this before it becomes a melt down;) Venus and Mars also oppose Saturn at 11 degrees Aquarius. Venus in Leo craves love, but opposite Saturn, intimacy is difficult. It reminds us of those who undervalue us, take advantage of us. Mars under this influence can struggle with anger and frustration, denying the self and it’s needs in order to take care of business.

So the opportunity lies in the ability to seek the higher ground, to open our hearts to our loved ones and care deeply for them, as well as us. Cancer is the sign of the nurturer, and we can all use some care and kindness. These other planets shake up our calm to redirect our energies to what we can make out of the present. The Sun and Moon tell us to look through our past to see the way to the future. No more mistakes made after lessons learned. Under this influence we must hold ourselves to a higher standard in order to gain our own respect. Life is full of choices; now is the time to make those choices and to live by them. Consistently.

This is a grand occasion for an evening adventure with good food and good company. Share what you have with others, and enjoy your creation!
