This is the sign of the harvest, and the time is ripe for creating order in our creation. If we look at our lives as a metaphor for our garden and how it’s ready to pick and gather what we have sewn in the time between now and our last New Moon in Leo, we can see what has grown abundantly and what has withered on the vine.

With the Sun and Moon in Virgo at 25 degrees, we look at the other planets and relationships to these luminaries. The good news is we have a Saturn trine, at 25 degrees Capricorn. This is a beneficial relationship, as it supports the serious side of Virgo that wants to create solutions to the practical concerns of life such as health, meaningful work, and successfully managing routines.

This energy is detail oriented, and wants to look at everything analytically and without undue emotion in order to solve issues. It is a sign that is highly critical of waste, abuse, and selfishness so kindness is in order here. An open heart to one’s self as well as others assists in using this energy properly.

We also have an Inconjunct from these luminaries to Mars at 27 degrees Aries. Mars in Aries is “me” oriented, where the Sun and Moon are in “we” thinking. With the inconjunct we have adjustments to make, so see where in yourself this balance or imbalance lies. This time calls for generosity, as we have only to give of ourselves and our skills and talents. Virgo is in service to humanity and we need to look at where we are in service to ourselves and others. Are we healthy? Enjoying our work and service, or resentful of our obligations? Is our house in order or are we living in squalor? We have an opportunity here to organize our lives with the assistance of these energies.

Rather than a journey that takes us to our subconscious, I choose to consciously pick a job to do like cleaning out a closet. Tear it apart, take everything out, and objectively see what we need and what we should let go of. You can be very generous here, seeing what you have and haven’t used, needed, or relied on that someone else can benefit from.

These “things” in our closets are at times kept for all the wrong reasons. Something we used to wear when our body was different, stuff we used to use; or got when we thought we needed it but really didn’t. Exercise gear we fell out of love with. Stacks of old reading materials that we have read but don’t trust we will remember what we learned from them. It’s time to unclutter in order to have our lives organized and efficient. When we stockpile old elements in the material world it limits our ability to create what we need in our lives now. We are ever changing, and with that understanding allow yourself to finally let go of what you have been holding on to, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Once you have boxed and bagged up your donations for others, and put what you are keeping back into your closet, don’t you feel lighter? Doesn’t the closet space look clean and free from the debris of the past? Now is the time to celebrate this New Moon with pride in yourself and confidence knowing you can let go of attachments you don’t need. This exercise works on the conscious and unconscious level. You can set your goals with the knowledge you are creating from a clean slate, free of fear of letting go.

On September 22 we will celebrate the turning point from Summer into Fall. We can already feel it in the air, as meteorological fall began September 1st. The Equinox marks the time where the Sun leaves the sign of Virgo and moves into Libra.

What’s so special about the Equinox? Why has it been celebrated by cultures for centuries? There are stone circles and ancient sites that have been created to feature the Sun in the positions of the Equinoxes and Solstices for reasons that have been speculated on for eons. Some say it’s so people could count the cycles of life; know when to plant, when to harvest, when to prepare for either. Others believe there is magic to these turning points from one season to another, and in order to receive the magic for ourselves, ritual is in order. The magic to celebrate at this time is the enchantment of gratitude. We celebrate the abundance, the harvest, and everything we have been blessed with thus far.

I know some of you may think after these difficult times, what do we have to be grateful for? After our lives have been turned upside down, inside out. But Spirit and life has gotten our attention, slowed down our usual existence and forced us to look at ourselves in our lives. Instead of the trance existence we were living day in day out, our wings were clipped and we had to sit still and think. Now is the time to look back and see how we behaved during these times, what we have learned, how we can change. The Equinox is all about change, and moving in new directions.

Time to reinvent ourselves. Take inventory of all of your skills, your interests, your passions and see where they may fit into the world of tomorrow. Staying stuck and resentful isn’t an option. With the Air Sign of Libra coming on the 22nd, we leave behind the Earth sign of Virgo with a new inspiration. Libra energy is mental, inventive and balanced. The glyph for Libra is the scales in balance, and that is the goal here. We’ve been exposed to both the light and the dark, and it is time to strike a balance within ourselves.

I like to go big when celebrating this Equinox. I love to gather elements that represent this occasion, like a feast of garden delights, crystals, decks of cards, Runes, stones and head for my favorite sacred place. For me it is the beach, but it can be anywhere you feel magical and uplifted.

Then I gather rocks and create a medicine wheel which to me represents the 4 directions and the 4 seasons. As I set up my magical ritual I’m considering, listening to guidance, looking and listening. Once it is completed, I set my intention and enter the wheel. At this point I am in communion with All That Is and spend these moments being grateful for my life and all that is in it.

After moving through the wheel I thank all those invisible beings who have joined me in this journey to myself, and send them love from my heart to theirs. Once the ritual is over it’s time to light the bonfire and share the cornucopia with those people who have joined me. Now is the time to share stories, to pass the talking stick and open up to the oneness of the balance between the light and the dark. So on this Equinox, GO BIG;)

We begin the month of September with a Full Moon in the sign of Pisces at 10 degrees, while the Sun is in Virgo at 10 degrees. Along with this Full Moon energy, we have a T-Square between Venus, Mars and Saturn. What is a T-Square you may ask? It is when 3 planets or luminaries square each other, with the apex of the squares directing how to release the pressure these planets impact. The apex of this T-Square is Mars in the sign of Aries.

To understand what effect these energies have on us all, let’s begin with the Full Moon. Remember, the Full Moon shows us how our intentions set at the New Moon have culminated. Look to the New Moon in Leo in August and the hopes and dreams you set into motion at that time.

Now with the Full Moon in the sign of Pisces, the sign of the Dreamer, you can look even deeper at the meaning of those goals and whether they have served you, or have been adjusted for your highest good.

Pisces is the most sensitive and intuitive Moon Sign, with the ability to feel and sense everything happening around us. This exaggerated Full Moon energy in such a passive sign can direct you to watch, stand back and stay out of the fray, or it can inspire you to take a deeper and more profound inventory of your life. It is the sign of endings in the zodiac, showing us what we must take care of and prepare for before we experience a “rebirth” of our consciousness. It can be a sign of procrastination and not taking care of our responsibilities if we become too sensitive to our own foibles.

Now we add to this energy the T-Square. This is a Cardinal T-Square, the most active of them all. The rub here is between our loving/caring nature or what we value, our identity, and the power of those authorities in charge of our lives, like the government. The apex of this is Mars in Aries. Aries begins the zodiac, being the first sign. Mars shows us how we use our energy and who we think we are. This T-

Square inspires us to look at the opposition of our caring and loving nature and what we are told to see, feel and take direction from. (Venus in Cancer and Saturn in Capricorn.) We struggle with our identity here, and the energies prod us on to see where we fit, what we truly believe, and who we are in the midst of all that is happening.

So we have a choice to make. Who are we really? What do we really think? What is the most productive use of our energies under these current circumstances? We can use this Full Moon to illuminate these truths and move closer to our highest version.

We can state out loud we are asking our guidance and navigation systems to help us to see what needs work here.

With this Full Moon culminating at 10:22 PM PDT, I think the greatest use of this luminary is as the Dreamer. Before going to bed September 1st set up a Dream Journal. For those of you who have never done this, it means prior to going to sleep, you are setting the intention to Dream a bout your greatest source of identity, who you are now or wish to become once you have moved past your limitations. You can elevate this to a full on ritual, setting up an altar with elements that bring you power and insight. Before lying down to sleep, open your dream journal and write to your guides, angels, and Spirit helpers to help you find what you are looking for. The power you wish to gain from releasing your burdens and self limiting beliefs is just that. Then once you are finished writing, close your journal with the full expectation of participating with guidance in dreamtime. If you wake up before you rise in the morning, having had a dream, write down what you experienced to help you remember what was said, done, or witnessed by you in your dreams.

Our dreams can be hard to understand at first, as it is another language than our waking understanding of information. It is like code, representing blocks of information through story line, colors, animals, and/or those we are with in our dreams. Look for the hidden meanings to see where fear still resides in your consciousness. And with this Full Moon in Pisces, you may find where you have stopped participating in life fully due to confusion and doubt. Rather than letting that happen, we can use Mars in Aries to stand tall and accept our challenges with power and inspiration.

Use this Full Moon to come closer to the real you, the one you know you want to be. There is no shame in change, it is freedom!
