New Moon in Taurus 2024

On May 7th, 2024 the Sun and Moon align at 18 degrees Taurus 2 minutes, creating our New Moon. This is the break we’ve been waiting for, when the Eclipse’s of March/April have set the course, and now we begin again. It is a time to set new goals, directed by the lessons learned through these mighty luminaries.

When we set our goals, it is important to work with the energies presently available. Taurus is a Fixed Earth sign. Fixed as it arrives in the middle of Spring, the second month when Spring is solid, grounded and anchored into its environment, like the seeds that have taken root. Taurus energy brings the nurturing that is necessary for a seed to sprout. Taurus is simple, basic, uncomplicated energy. Taurus is the first earth sign of the Solar year. The earth element adds a sensory component to Taurus energy that encourages the individual to seek satisfaction and/or gratification. Earth signs make good cooks, gardeners, artists, designers, life enhancers. Seeking satisfaction through the senses is a typical earth desire, and can be a gift or a curse, depending on the level of attachment to it. Taurus people can struggle with that.

While we have the Sun and Moon together in this sign, we look to the nature of the sign to align our goals. The best way to look at it is to create new momentum in the direction the sign provides us; finances, values, beauty, comfort and security. After the last two Eclipses, we are more aware of what lies before us and how we can accommodate our well being now. Had we not experienced these, we might have still been creating from an old paradigm, one that held us hostage in our thinking. We may not have felt deserving of a better life before, but now that we have cleared the decks of our fears and tribulations, we can paint on a new canvas.

This New Moon has support from three planets; Jupiter, Saturn and Uranus. Jupiter is conjunct the Sun and Moon at 25 degrees Taurus. With Jupiter on board, material comfort and security are very important. Your thinking is practical and your love of the Earth matters more than ever. You are inspired to really enjoy the sensual pleasures life offers us. Jupiter expands our awareness and optimism in regards to all things we love. You are blessed with abundant self-confidence, and cheerful generosity. Your good will and friendliness will win you many allies. You also have grand visions and aspirations, and the desire to succeed in life in a big way. You expect the best, and usually get it. You are more tolerant and forgiving at this time, ready to overlook mistakes and give others a second chance. You will expect the best from people and draw it out of them; and because of your emotional generosity, your life can become rich with friends, and possibly financial blessings as well.

Saturn sextiles the Sun and Moon at 17 degrees Pisces. It gives us the sense of longing or homesickness for something you cannot name or specify, and you may have both a great attraction toward, and fear of, mysticism and parapsychology. Overcoming feelings of fear, guilt, anxiety, loneliness, or oversensitivity is an important task for you now. Educating yourself about what lies beneath the surface of our judgments and beliefs is available to us at this time, in order to put our life in the right perspective. Realistic and practical, you can set goals for yourself that are modest enough for you to actually achieve. You’ll be able to tackle long, difficult projects and see them through, for now you possess self-discipline, concentration, and perseverance. You also have a strong sense of responsibility and are very conscientious in fulfilling your obligations.

And the last planet helping us to change is Uranus conjunct the Sun and Moon at 22 degrees Taurus. When Uranus is in this sign, business and practical matters, and implementing scientific ideas in practical ways can make life more comfortable. You seek a life that is more spontaneous and free. You may identify with the role of the rebel, ready to lead others into a new way of thinking and behaving. You crave excitement and emotional freedom and may like to break the rules and take risks. Anything new or untried appeals to you and you have little patience with restrictive customs. You are more attracted to unusual, creative, or offbeat people and nontraditional lifestyles.

Full Moon in Scorpio 4/23

On April 23rd at 4:48 PM PDT the Sun and Moon oppose each other; the Sun is at 4 degrees Taurus 18 minutes, and the Moon at 4 degrees Scorpio 18 minutes. This Scorpio Full Moon is a powerful one, as it is celebrated as Wesak! The Scorpio Full Moon marks the celebration of the Buddha’s Moon – a time to recall the birth, enlightenment, and death of Gautama Buddha. Wesak Day is a Holy Day for Buddhists. In fact, it is considered the holiest day in the Buddhist Calendar.

Let us look back to when the Moon was new in Scorpio last year, on November 13, 2023. This was a time of setting goals related to the Moon and its energies. Scorpio is a Fixed Water sign; fixed as it lands in the middle of the Autumn season, and in the sensitive Water sign with the deepest potentials. During a Scorpio Full Moon, emotions are heightened and there will likely be a focus on matters related to power, control, intimacy and hidden truths. What were you hoping for when the Moon was new in Scorpio? Did it have to do with sovereignty, with your authority over your life and how it unfolds? Or possibly finances as Scorpio energy is concerned with ambition and fulfillment?

Maybe it was about intimacy and relationships? Passion is a keyword for Scorpio, and taking the high road or low road to arrive at your desired destination is so important. Due to the deep nature of this sign, the most illustrious desire is to be one with Spirit.

On this occasion the Sun, Moon and Pluto at 2 degrees Aquarius create a Fixed T-Square. With a Fixed T-Square, people will be too focused on not changing or breaking habits. They can also be stuck in the past and not willing to move forward. To unlock the potential of the T-Square, we focus on the planets that are in the middle of the storm. These planets square two different signs and have the most potent energy. Knowing how to use that energy in their favor will enable us to push ahead. The middle planet is Pluto in Aquarius.

This planet tells us there is a strong emotional need to cooperate and unite together. Aquarius is about team players and united action. Clashes in political ideologies are critical now, and unfortunately, as we know from history, there can be considerable damage and harm arising from a clash of large organizations or governments. On a personal level, Pluto is asking us for transformation regarding the “me” versus “we.” Astrologers are bracing themselves for individual change and change on a global scale. That's because Aquarius is an air sign unafraid of radical shifts and leaps. In fact, Aquarius welcomes change, knowing that it leads to progress. So we can all do our parts on this notable Buddha Moon by seeing each other as family, friends and one with humanity.

While Mercury continues to go retrograde in the sign of Aries, we are in a bit of a holding pattern until it goes direct on April 25th. This allows us to contemplate and take time to rethink our resolve, to imagine a greater outcome to our life and our goals. We can really see what it is we wanted our lives to become and how to go about making the needed changes with ourselves in mind. Aries is the “me” in the puzzle, a sign of childlike imagination that isn’t afraid of what lies ahead. Now is the opportunity to take hold of the reins in your life and be brave. Don’t allow these fixed signs to keep you stuck in the past; look toward the future and all of the possibilities with optimism and hope for a bright tomorrow.

New Moon in Aries Total Solar Eclipse!

On April 8th, 2024 at 11:21 AM PDT the Sun and Moon share the degree of 19 Aries 24 minutes, creating the New Moon. But happening simultaneously is the Total Solar Eclipse! In the U.S the path of totality begins in Texas and will travel through Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. It begins at 1:27 in Eagle Pass, Texas and ends at 3:32 in Presque Island, Maine. Small parts of Tennessee and Michigan will also experience the total solar eclipse, according to NASA.

This is one powerful New Moon in the Cardinal Fire Sign of Aries. Cardinal Signs begin seasons, and this sign begins Spring. Fire Signs are powerful on their own, but with the Sun entering Aries on the Vernal Equinox, on March 19th, 2024 it began to build up this Eclipse season energy. Now the Moon joins the Sun in this stellar event, and joining the ranks is Venus at 4 degrees Aries, Mercury Retrograde conjunct the Sun and Moon at 24 degrees Aries. And, we can’t leave out the North Node at 15 degrees Aries conjunct the Sun and Moon.

Much is being predicted about this occasion from portals and gateways opening to Solar flares affecting the planet, to possible power grids failing and preparations being set in place. That's the thing with Eclipses; powerful stellar events that affect our bodies, our planet and our consciousness. Let’s look at the opening of doorways for us to open within us.

On March 25th it began with the Penumbral Lunar Eclipse in the sign of Libra. Balancing the scales of our emotional selves was activated at that time. With the arrival of the Age of Aquarius in place we are securing our new vibration to a higher frequency, anchoring it in with a humanitarian upgrade. We have the opportunity to eliminate, once and for all, the burden we’ve carried up to this time that no longer serves us in any way. Old memories, things left unsaid, hurt feelings, tramas and phobias, you name it. It is singular to you. If you stand back and see what you’ve learned, how it’s affected you all these years, you can see it from two perspectives. One is the child within you that was injured, no matter how old you were. And the other is from the highest perspective of your higher self. It wasn’t meant to serve you as a deterrent to your life but a wisdom you and you alone can gain. The higher self KNOWS why these things happened to you and can objectively explain what this was meant to show you. May have been related to a past life, so far back in your memory you need your inner guidance to finally put the pattern into perspective. I suggest you write a list of all you want to eliminate in your life, not like a New Years resolution but a commitment to yourself to upgrade and move forward.

Solar flares have been happening quite recently: a coronal mass ejection (CME) was observed departing the west-southwest solar limb on 28 March 2024. This CME was associated with the X1 (R3) flare that peaked at 4:56 PM EDT. This affects the magnetic field of our planet, and ourselves. This event has potential impacts on power grids, satellite operations, and could make the Aurora visible at higher latitudes in the United States. So, all of this is happening while we have this open portal from 3/25/24-4/8/24. And it won’t end there, we will be feeling it for weeks to come.

For the event of the 8th, have a list of all of the changes you want to bring in to improve your life to be truly authentic of who you really are. Who you really want to be. Doing what you’d really love to do! Do some kind of ceremony to initiate this, such as taking a bath with salt and essences, candles lit, sacred objects in view, while reading your list of what is being eliminated, and what is being brought into your life now that there is room for it. No more spending all your energy supporting old paradigms, but action taking place on your road up the mountain of your self realization. You will feel lighter, free from the grips of fears and limitations. You will find you have more to offer the world now that you have let go of what lies in the way of your freedom. Use the fire of all of these luminaries and planets to burn away the debris. Then settle into the new you with a kind heart, especially for yourself.
