New Moon in Cancer 2025

On June 25th at 3:32 AM PDT the Sun and Moon share the placement of 4 degrees Cancer 8 minutes, and herald the moment of the New Moon. We are shifting gears from the Gemini energy of objective imaginings to the subjective energy of Cancer. While one must precede the other, we are now to explore how we feel about our creation.

As all New Moons are about new beginnings, this one is so well suited for really revealing what it is we want to participate in. Beginnings rely on clearing out space to hold the new project, whether it’s physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual. Now is the time for digging deep into our past to better access our futures.

Cancer rules the home and all that comes with it. Mother, our childhood, our emotions, and our ancestors. On the surface we look at our past and remember key moments that affected us deeply; now we can review those to find the keys to our own behavior. We see what set us up for fears, phobias, and limitations, as well as talents, skills and interests. At this time we have deeper access to what lies buried in our subconscious. Things we might need some digging to remember that led us to this moment. Reaching in deep can reveal who we really are, and whether or not we still wish to hold on to the past.

This Cardinal Water sign encourages an interest in our family, our children, our land and landscape. It is time to celebrate what we have created and improve upon it. If you wish to reopen a bridge that has been burned before, now is a good time to open your heart and mind and put yourself in another’s shoes.
