Full Moon in Capricorn 2026

On June 29th at 4:57 PM PDT the Sun and Moon oppose each other; the Sun at 8 degrees Cancer 15 minutes, and the Moon at 8 degrees Capricorn 15 minutes. This Full Moon in Capricorn will appear smaller in the night sky due to its orbit farthest from our Earth. It will also make a low arc through the evening, appearing larger when by the Equator.

Full Moons are the culmination of actions/plans/creative thoughts we make during the New Moon. Why, you ask? Well, blah blah blah, no just kidding; look at the progression from New to Full. It begins like a sliver of light in the darkness, with the Sun and Moon in the same sign, at the same degree and minute! Your inspiration has a moment of creation that takes on a life of its own. The creation aligns with the energy of the combined power of their illumination. Then as the light and form grow, going through different astrological signs on its way to fullness, we graduate to the Full Moon. You know how they say most crimes, squabbles, heightened energy happens on a Full Moon That amped up energy needs an outlet, and like electricity, if not given a direction to follow it can burn your house down. So the choice is given to us to be part of our nature, and work with the Moon, or ignore it.

When the Moon is Full in Capricorn, our emotional self is in a balancing act. One where our emotional and domestic needs need to equal our ambitions and worldly responsibilities. The Moon was new in Capricorn on January 18th of this year. Capricorn is a Cardinal Earth sign, one driven by leading the way and staying grounded. Ruled by Saturn, the taskmaster, the most powerful goals made during this New Moon were for security, stability and focusing on accomplishments. Upgrading your life through hard work and study. Now, looking back over the first half of this year, we see if our hopes and dreams have been satisfied. We are reminded to remember the glyph for Capricorn is the mountain goat, slowly climbing what appears to be impossible heights through sheer determination.

On this occasion, we have a T-Square involving the Sun and Moon in opposition, both squaring Saturn and Neptune in the sign of Aries. We look to these planets that are the focal release of this energy, for direction. When the Sun is square Saturn it is like a wet blanket on our inspiration, reminding us of the pitfalls and reality of our choices. We need to take into consideration not rushing but taking the time to do things right and stick to the facts. When it squares the Moon we may feel emotionally blocked, needing to discover what keeps us from accomplishing our personal goals. Do we need to alter our plans? Take the initiative and follow through with what you’ve set out to do.

Neptune in Aries square the Sun in Cancer creates a tense clash between your core identity (the Cancer Sun) and your urge for independent action (Neptune in Aries). This can cause intense emotional confusion, feelings of burnout, and a struggle to know what to fight for or against. When Neptune squares the Full Moon in Capricorn you may be in an emotional fog. Neptune in Aries brings impulsive, fiery, and sometimes confused emotional energy. When it squares the Full Moon, your usual emotional reserves may feel tested or temporarily dissolved. You might struggle with a disconnect between the reality of what you need to feel safe (Moon in Capricorn) and the urge to chase an elusive or idealized feeling or identity (Neptune in Aries)

All this being said, this Full Moon may have some fireworks! Know this can be an explosive time if we push ourselves too hard, or, beat ourselves up for being lazy. These planetary influences are here to help us, if we are willing to admit to ourselves whether we strike the balance between taking care of our inner child while giving them the tools, the path and the inspiration to accomplish what they have come here to do. Children are naturally inquisitive, unafraid to discovery, curious by nature. Get outside, discover the beauty that surrounds you. If it isn’t, then make it beautiful with the help of the Sun in Cancer, the sign of the home, and the Full Moon in Capricorn, your willing partner:)
