On September 21st at 12:54 PM PDT the Sun and Moon align at 29 degrees Virgo 5 minutes. Last month on August 23rd we had our first New Moon in Virgo, opening the door with a Full Lunar Eclipse to the “Virgo Portal.” On this New Moon, the door will close with a Partial Solar Eclipse; cementing new intentions and bringing about necessary shifts.
Let’s talk about all things Virgo. It is a Mutable Earth Sign, mutable because it is the last month of Summer and showing signs of Fall on its way. The days are getting shorter, the nights are getting cooler, and we can feel the changes. This Earth sign is grounded in the belief we can all do better, and is dedicated to improving not only themselves but those around them. This can be a stumbling block if more attention is paid to others welfare then their own. Virgo can be a nervous energy if not directed, as the imperfections life shows us can weigh heavily on them. This sign of health, work and service is best utilized by analyzing what needs attention and working to improve it. Giving a helping hand wherever needed. The hurdle here is self esteem, as this sign can be shy and reserved, and self critical.
Now is the time to build the bridge from here to tomorrow, to gain self respect by taking action on what may otherwise have just been visions seemingly impossible to manifest. We all are good at something; I am watching a wave of selfless helpers on YouTube, from cleaning yards and homes for free to installing a new roof for a family in need. If you’ve been considering some type of service that you can do in your spare time, or while working at your job, DO IT! Maybe you’re great at cooking or baking and have some spare ingredients that would put a smile on someone’s face. Or you sew or knit and know of someone who needs a garment. This is Virgo energy at its best, serving those who need help, putting a smile on our face as well!
On this occasion, we have many planetary effects known as “aspects” to these luminaries, heightening and amplifying the energy and themes of this Virgo portal. To begin with, Mercury the messenger at 6 degrees Libra makes a wide conjunction to the Sun and Moon. When Mercury is in Libra, we insist upon fairness, and seek to bring harmony or at least peaceful coexistence between people. Diplomacy is a benefit in any business or social situation while in this sign. This conjunction to the Sun gives us a clear mind, a love of learning and a desire for new experiences. And to the New Moon, your interests will include the inner motivations of others, their feelings, their personal life, and problems of others. Psychology, symbolism, mythology, and languages are also areas that you are drawn to at this time.
The Sun and Moon are opposite Saturn at 28 degrees Pisces Retrograde, and Neptune at o degrees Aries Retrograde. Saturn in Pisces wants us all to overcome feelings of fear, guilt, anxiety, loneliness, or over-sensitivity before it goes direct into Aries on Valentines Day, 2026. When Saturn opposes the Sun, feelings of personal inadequacy, inhibitions, and self-doubt may plague you. You can tend to work and struggle more than you need to, and to take yourself too seriously. When it is opposite the Moon, you’ll be very sensitive to criticism and easily feel left out or neglected, and although you may appear cool or distant, you actually care very much about being included. This challenges the need for a high self esteem, and if there is a bump in the road, it will encourage us all to slow down and take notice. Let this “rub” open you up to challenges you thought you couldn’t succeed in before, letting go of fears that keep you hostage. Neptune in Aries wants to help us all take action with regard to our spiritual health, bringing us a blend of visionary spiritual impulses with bold, direct action, encouraging people to manifest their dreams and spiritual beliefs into tangible realities. When it is opposite the Sun, you can be extremely sensitive and imaginative, and you can get lost in your dreams, fantasies, and visions. Opposite the Moon, you are a dreamer, attracted to the inner, mystical side of life, and may have trouble distinguishing the real from the imagined or illusory. Clarity built on spiritual understanding as well as physical and worldly intellect is needed. Chase away the blues and face the music:)
We have a Grand Air Trine between the Sun and Moon, and Uranus and Pluto! Here come the troops:) The trine from Uranus in Gemini says spin the wheel of fortune, anything can suddenly happen to change your mind, or open you up to an unknown. You’ll crave freedom, adventure, excitement, and discovery. The trine to the Moon can make you seek emotional stimulation, excitement, surprises, and anything new. You will love to feel free and unfettered. Pluto in Aquarius says transformation comes through humanitarian efforts, and supports the Golden Rule. The trine to the Sun gives us a deep belief in our own power, an ability to survive any change, and to emerge victoriously from any difficulty. Pluto trine the Moon helps us to handle an emotional crisis very well, being interested in the deep roots of emotional problems and how to cure them.
There you have it, time to graduate. Courage is needed to plow through the hurdles that life presents us, and connecting with like minded souls fills our hearts and encourages generous initiatives we couldn’t accomplish alone. You can do it!
